UPVC is the value choice and remains the right answer for most replacement work. It insulates well, needs almost no maintenance and comes in white, woodgrain foils and a wide range of coloured finishes. It suits standard domestic openings, rear elevations and anywhere budget matters more than sightline.

Aluminium is stronger for the same section, so frames can be much slimmer and openings much larger. That means more glass and more light for the same hole in the wall. The old frame is removed carefully rather than smashed out, which protects the reveal and keeps the making good to a minimum. New frames are packed and levelled so the sashes operate evenly across their whole travel, mechanically fixed, then sealed inside and out. Cills and trims are cut on site to suit the opening.

The work area is sheeted up before anything is removed, tools and materials are kept tidy through the day and all debris is taken away. Making good is completed internally and externally as part of the job, not quoted as an extra afterwards.
