Overview
Installation, handled properly
Trade is our installation service for customers who are not the end homeowner: builders, developers, landlords and contractors who need the glazing fitted correctly and signed off without managing it themselves.
It is a different service from supply only. Here we come to site and install; on supply only we quote from your drawings and your own fitters take it from there.
We are a family-run business with a team of ten and more than sixty years of combined industry experience, and four installers working as two teams on the road.
Who we work with
- Builders and main contractors working to a programme
- Developers fitting out multiple plots
- Landlords and property managers replacing glazing across portfolios
- Shopfitters and small commercial projects
- Architects specifying aluminium glazing and Spitfire entrances
- Trades who would rather we fitted than tie up their own labour
Compliance
Where responsibility sits
Where we install replacement glazing, the work is installed to current Building Regulations and self-certified under FENSA, with the certificate issued on completion.
Where we supply products for your own team to fit, the products meet the relevant Building Regulations standards and notification remains the installer's responsibility. We will always confirm in writing which of the two applies to your order.
Our process
How a trade installation runs
Step 1
Free survey
We visit, measure and look at the existing openings, lintels, cills and reveals. The survey is free and carries no obligation.
Step 2
Specification and quotation
You get one clear written quotation covering frames, glass, hardware, fitting, making good and certification; no hidden extras added later.
Step 3
Manufacture
Your frames are made to the surveyed sizes in UPVC or aluminium, with your chosen colours, glazing specification and hardware finishes.
Step 4
Installation
Our own installers fit the job. The work area is sheeted up and protected, materials are kept tidy and debris is cleared away each day.
Step 5
Making good
All making good is completed internally and externally, so the finished opening looks right from both sides before we leave.
Step 6
Certification and aftercare
You receive a FENSA certificate for replacement glazing, full product care advice and a 10-year comprehensive insurance-backed guarantee.

Frequently asked questions
How is trade different from supply only?
On trade work we install: our own teams come to site, fit the products and complete the work. On supply only we quote and supply the products from your drawings and your own fitters install them.
Who carries out the installation?
Our own fully trained in-house installers: four fitters working as two teams on the road, with a dedicated project manager on the job.
Where does Building Regulations responsibility sit?
Where we install replacement glazing for you, the work is installed to current Building Regulations and self-certified under FENSA. Where we supply products for someone else to fit, the products meet the relevant Building Regulations standards and notification remains the installer's responsibility.
Are you accredited for site work?
Yes. We are CHAS accredited, FENSA approved and our installations are covered by InstallSure, with a 10-year comprehensive insurance-backed guarantee.
Can you work to our programme?
We are used to working alongside main contractors and sequencing our work around other trades. Tell us the programme and we will tell you honestly what we can commit to rather than agreeing to a date we cannot keep.
Can you quote from drawings?
Yes. Send drawings or a schedule and we will quote from them, and flag anything in the detail that we think will cause difficulty on site.
Only need the products? See supply only from our Godstone trade counter. Working on your own home? See retail glazing for homeowners.
Send us the drawings and we will price the job
Give us the schedule, the programme and the site details. We will tell you what we can commit to and put a written price in front of you.
